MBA team succeed at Super Bowl of Business Plans competitions

This week our IMBA team, TNG Pharmaceuticals, has done it again. They are the 2011 Global Champions in the Venture Labs Investment Competition, formerly Moot Corp – The Super Bowl of Business Plan competitions.

This outstanding team has now won over $799,000 in business plan competitions held at the University of Nebraska, the University of Cincinnati, Rice University, and now at the University of Texas (Moot Corp). The most recent win brought them $135,000 in prize money. In total, teams from the College of Business' Forcht Center have won over $853,000 this year.

The Venture Labs Investment Competition is the most prestigious competition of its kind in the world. Each year over 1500 teams from around the world vie for the opportunity to compete at the finals in Austin, Texas. This year 38 teams from the United States and 11 other countries were invited to Austin. The team from U of L topped teams from Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Johns Hopkins, Ohio State, Purdue, Rice, Oregon, Texas and Arkansas, University of Western Ontario, E. M. Lyon, the Stockholm School of Entrepreneurship, WHU (Germany), and the Chinese University of Hong Kong. The other teams in the final 4 were Michigan (#2), Thammasat University (Thailand) (#3), and Brigham Young (#4).
